Event marking the accession of Indonesia to the Hague Convention of 1907

The event, which was jointly organized by the PCA and the Embassy of Indonesia in The Hague, took place on 13 July 2026 at the Peace Palace. It featured speeches by H.E. Mr. Juraj Podhorsky, the Acting President of the PCA Administrative Council, H.E. Laurentius Amrih Jinangkung, Ambassador of Indonesia to the Netherlands, and Dr. Hab. Marcin Czepelak, PCA Secretary-General.

Ambassador Podhorsky opened the ceremony by welcoming Indonesia as the 127th Contracting Party to the PCA. Ambassador Jinangkung provided insights into the accession process and shared Indonesia’s perspective on this important step. The PCA Secretary-General underscored the significance of Indonesia’s accession to the Hague Convention of 1907 and recalled the strong ties between Indonesia and the PCA.

The ceremony also featured a presentation by Dr. Narendra Jatna, Deputy Attorney-General for Civil and State Administrative Affairs of Indonesia, titled “From Accession to Ecosystem: Indonesia, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, and Adhyaksa Chambers”, and remarks by Ms. Erly Wijayani, Director of Economic Law and Treaties at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia,  on “Arbitration Mechanisms in Trade and Investment Dispute Settlement in Indonesia”.

The event was followed by a reception during which diplomatic representatives of PCA Contracting Parties welcomed the Republic of Indonesia as a new PCA Contracting Party.
