Fifth PCA Singapore Vis Pre-Moot and Seventh PCA Buenos Aires Vis Pre-Moot

On 5 and 6 March 2026, the offices of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in Buenos Aires and Singapore, respectively, hosted practice moot rounds at the San Martín Palace and Maxwell Chambers for the 33rd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and the 23rd Vis East Moot.

During the PCA Buenos Aires and Singapore Vis Pre-Moots, each team had the chance to plead before tribunals composed of international arbitration specialists from various jurisdictions and legal backgrounds. The teams received detailed feedback on their pleadings in order to assist their preparation for the Vis East Moot which commenced on 15 March 2026, and the Vis Moot, which will commence on 27 March 2026.

The following four teams attended the Buenos Aires edition of the 2026 PCA Vis Pre-Moot:

  • Universidad de Buenos Aires
  • Universidad de Chile
  • Universidad de Montevideo
  • Universidad Nacional de Rosario

After two days of high-level advocacy, the team from Universidad de Buenos Aires emerged with the highest overall score. The top oralist award was presented to Ms. Agustina López Valenzuela from the Universidad de Montevideo for her exceptional performance.

 

The following eight teams attended the Singapore edition of the 2026 PCA Vis Pre-Moot:

  • China-EU School of Law at the China University of Political Science and Law
  • East China University of Political Science and Law
  • Gadjah Mada University
  • NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad
  • National Law University, Delhi
  • National University of Singapore
  • Singapore Management University
  • West Bengal National University of Juridical Science

After three sessions, the NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, National University of Singapore and the Gadjah Mada University emerged as the top three teams. Furthermore, Mahi Dasgupta, Elizabeth Jessica Manullang and Altaf Rashan Hoesein earned the top three oralist awards for their exceptional performances.
